Persimmon Homes Wessex are supporting this year’s Malmesbury Carnvial through a donation of £1,000.

The donation was made through Persimmon's Community Champions initiative - which aims to support local charities, schools, and community groups.

The Malmesbury Carnival is a longstanding tradition in the town that has been going for over 100 years, which brings together residents, businesses, and visitors for events during August and September.

The carnival includes a wide range of events, such as live music, parades, food and drink stalls, and children's activities. The 2023 Malmesbury Carnival promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with a jam-packed schedule of events that will appeal to people of all ages.

Paul Overton, Malmesbury Carnival co chairman said: “On behalf of Malmesbury Carnival and the local community, I would like to thank Persimmon Homes for its very generous sponsorship donation.

“The company’s generosity in previous years has helped Malmesbury Carnival to raise over £30,000 last year for local good causes and will once again help the Carnival to hold a very successful and enjoyable event this summer, as well has supporting the local community.

“As we rely solely on the dedication and hard work of volunteers this donation is most welcome and I’d like to offer my thanks once again to Persimmon on behalf of the Carnival committee.”

Julian Roper, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes Wessex, said: "We are delighted to be supporting the Malmesbury Carnival through our Community Champions initiative.

“The carnival is an important part of the town's cultural heritage, and it brings together people from all walks of life.

“As a prominent local business based on Tetbury Hill, we are proud to be contributing to such a worthy cause, and we look forward to seeing the great impact the Carnvial will have once again this summer."
