Former England goalkeeper David Seaman MBE and TV presenter and outdoor enthusiast Helen Skelton officially opened a new GO Outdoors store in Swindon.
The two cut a ribbon welcomed customers to the Oxford Road site, greeting them with goodie bags and vouchers to spend inside the newly kitted-out store.
Shortly after this, a Q&A session with the celebrities was held, in which the England legend explained to onlookers what he loves about spending time outdoors.
He said: “I find time spent outdoors - whether that be fishing, hiking or something higher octane - completely and totally amazing. I’m always looking for my next adventure. That’s why I’m thrilled to be here today, opening this new GO Outdoors store, giving more people the opportunity to get out there and enjoy the great outdoors”.
Helen said: “Nature and adventure are great levellers. There’s no denying time spent outside is good for your mental health and that’s why I would encourage anyone to invest in yourself by being outdoors. This new store provides the gear for people to do that.”
The new store is billed as the go-to destination in Swindon for outdoor enthusiasts, stocking everything from the latest tents and camping equipment, to waterproof jackets, walking boots, bikes, rucksacks and related items.
