South Swindon MP Sir Robert Buckland paid a call on new town centre shop Post and Packing.
After meeting owners Shani and Darren, he said: "It's great to be back in Havelock Street here in the heart of Swindon, at a new business, Post and Packing.
"Although a lot of life is now online, you still need to send packages, and what better place to come than here in the heart of Swindon, to a new local business, run by local people?"
Shani and Darren explained that they offered a modern alternative to traditional shipping methods, with services available for both local residents and businesses.
They also sell packaging materials of all sizes and do printing and scanning.
Darren said: "We are a modern alternative to your traditional shipping methods. We give the customers more choice of how to send their parcels and their mail.
"We can send worldwide. We offer our services to local residents and also businesses, so there's a lot we can do for the local community.
"In addition to that, we sell packaging materials in all shapes and sizes, from a box to a thousand boxes, and we do printing and scanning.
"So a whole host of services that we can offer the local community."

The shop is open on weekdays from 9.30am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.
