The Little Pottery Painting Co in Royal Wootton Bassett is through to the regional finals for the Best Family Experience category in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2025.
The awards celebrate independent lifestyle businesses, and The Little Pottery Painting Co is the only one in the town to get through to the finals.
Owned by sisters Lauren and Gemma, the company has its origins in a family weekend away when the two stumbled upon a pottery painting experience.
The sisters said: "What started as a family activity to fill some time quickly turned into something much more meaningful. We found ourselves completely immersed in the creativity, calm, and connection that painting brought us.
"Even the members of the family who didn’t think they were 'creative' were hooked.
"On the drive home, we looked at each other and said, 'We need to bring this to our hometown.' And just like that, The Little Pottery Painting Co. was born.
The business is truly a family affair, with Gemma and Lauren's dad working as kilner and their mum working in the café and baking the delicious cakes customers have come to love.
In just over a year, the studio has become a creative hub for the local community, welcoming everyone from solo visitors looking for some peaceful headspace to date nights, girls' nights, family outings, baby handprint sessions, and more.
The sisters said: "We get to watch creativity unfold every single day. And then, thanks to Dad’s magic in the kiln, we see it all come to life when customers return to collect their finished piece. That moment? It never gets old.
"Being shortlisted for this award already means so much to us. For a young business, just over a year old, to be recognised for the experience we’ve created is a huge honour - and we’d love to shout about it, not just for us, but for our amazing community who continue to support us every step of the way."
