A business lunch organised by Swindon's PPS Chartered Accountants has raised £450 for the town's Down's Syndrome Group.

The chosen charity, Swindon Down's Syndrome Group, ensures people with Down’s Syndrome have the same opportunities as everyone else.

Including the one that took place towards the end of March, PPS Chartered Accountants have raised nearly £4,000 for charities since their business lunches started.

The Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group is a volunteer led charity supporting people with Down’s syndrome and their families in Swindon, Chippenham, Devizes and the surrounding area. The non-profit works to support families from the moment a child is born, through to old age.

Sally Holland, a partner at the Swindon accountants, said: “It’s with great thanks to the business owners who have made this such a special event that we are able to support this charity.

"The attendees have shown everyone that together we can begin to make positive changes. Positive change is very important to us and reflects the way we see ourselves in the community and we are nearly at the £4k mark in terms of our lunch fundraising.”

The lunch's luxurious raffle prizes included Champagne from redheadPR, a three course dinner and cocktails from DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon, an afternoon tea for two with prosecco and alpaca feeding from Jennies Kitchen, a complementary domestic window clean from Nice Clean Ltd and a bottle of Bloom gin from Cortus Ltd.
