Company wins praise for covid testing

A Liddington-based firm is at the forefront of providing covid-19 testing.

Racoo Screening specialises in infectious disease, DNA screening and drug and alcohol testing.
Its clients include employers, local authorities, other parts of the public sector and professional and amateur sports organisations.
Managing Director Simon Cady said the firm had originally carried out straightforward blood spot testing, but added: "More recently we have been contacted by a couple of local companies, asking if we could provide a Laboratory based antibody test.
"Our partner Lab analyses the samples, so we have put together a sample collection service, with nurses who go out to companies and other workplaces to collect them."
Positive feedback from clients included that of high-risk workers who had been anxious to discover whether they were or had been infected.
Racoo Screening also provides a laboratory-grade portable analyser able to test for coronavirus and give results within 45 minutes.
