Royal Wootton Bassett health and safety business Safewell Ltd celebrates its fifteenth year this February.
It has been celebration time at Safewell Ltd, as the occupational health and safety business in Royal Wootton Bassett reached its fifteenth birthday.
Staff enjoyed cake and balloons, while managing director, Nick Evans, marked the milestone with a 100-mile cycle ride.
Safewell Ltd was founded by Nick, after a 10-year career in corporate health and safety. He said he was driven by the desire to deliver practical advice to businesses with a friendly and jargon-free approach. He then set up Safewell from home.
Two years later he was joined by ex-colleague Gail Farrow to build the occupational health side of the business and they secured larger office premises at Templars Way Industrial Estate. Currently, Safewell has grown to a workforce of 16.
Services offered have expanded over the years, from health and safety consultancy initially, to now include specialist risk assessments and audits, occupational health and safety, and a wide range of training courses. Customers are said to comprise businesses of all sizes, across many industries.
On the anniversary of starting the business each year, keen fitness fanatic and black-belt Taekwondo instructor, Nick, organises a bike ride with friends. This year, they cycled 100 miles from Royal Wootton Bassett, through Berkshire and Gloucestershire, in one day.
Nick said: “Fifteen years is a great achievement, and we wanted to make sure we didn’t let the occasion go past unmarked. I’m very proud of our Safewell team for helping to grow the business to where it is today.”
