Digital marketing company Smarter Media is celebrating its best quarter in business.
The news follows the appointment of new managing director Emma Carter.
The Smarter Media team, based in Gypsy Lane, Swindon, have seen a 36 per cent rise in business based on the same quarter in 2020.
Emma Carter said: “I’m proud to let everyone know that as we emerge from the pandemic and all that it has entailed for the business community, we have just celebrated our strongest quarter in business yet.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my team, who have shown dedication, commitment and loyalty during this period of time.
"Their trust in me and my vision for Smarter Media has enabled us to deliver fantastic results for our clients and also for us.”
During the first quarter of 2021, Smarter Media has continued quarter on quarter growth - 36 percent up compared to Q1 in 2020. The team have secured £145,000 of recurring revenue.
Emma said: “Not only that, we’ve delivered growth in SEO objectives and revenue and profit conversions in paid media services - with 25 percent of our customers seeing their growth double in their results.
"More than 80 percent of our current clients have signed 12 month or longer contracts.”
One current client is independent builders’ merchant Amaroc, which has premises on the Westmead Industrial Estate in Swindon and also in Bristol. When lockdown was first announced, the senior management team at Amaroc furloughed all of their staff, thinking their sector would go into hibernation.
“How wrong could we be?” said Nick Ralphs, sales and marketing director.
“We were caught out with little or no staff and the phone ringing off the hook. All the usual suspects remained closed across the country. In Q1 2020 we were up by 20 percent on the previous year’s quarter and that was mainly due to the month of March.
“It didn’t stop there - Q2 43 percent up, Q3 70 percent and Q4 88 percent. We benefited from our competitors being closed and then we retained clients through excellent customer service.
"With this growth we added a fleet of transport and recruited more staff as well as working strategically with Smarter Media.
“Our digital strategy which we planned together has led to 77 percent growth in organic visibility superseding all expectations. The growth keeps coming as we hurtle through 2021.
“This is integral to our goal to expand our fleet of vehicles, open more branches as we have seen demand in certain regions and we need to pay attention to that. Ultimately we plan to become a multi-million pound turnover business with increasing annual growth.”
Emma said: “We are delighted to be able to support Amaroc as they grow. It’s been a joy to be able to work with a business which is growing through this tricky time.”
