Stagecoach, which runs many services in Swindon, will be attending over 25 Pride events across the UK in celebration of Pride Month.

The UK’s largest bus and coach operator, Stagecoach, has continued to demonstrate its support for the LGBTQ+ Community during this year's Pride celebrations by attending four Pride Events in one day (June 8) and has committed to attending over 25 across the UK.

Stagecoach began its Pride celebrations in Cheltenham on May 18, before attending Torfaen Pride on Saturday 1 June with one of the operators 18 specially wrapped Pride buses.

On Saturday 8 June, Stagecoach teams could be spotted at Blackpool, Canterbury, Oxford and Peterborough Pride events celebrating alongside the local communities.

The events were the first of over 25 Pride celebrations across the UK that Stagecoach has committed to attending, reaffirming their support of the LGBTQ+ community and its members both within Stagecoach and the wider communities it serves.

The operator has planned attendance in areas such as Manchester, Exeter, Portsmouth, Warwickshire, Barnsley, and Dundee.

Stagecoach has six Employee Networks, including its LGBTQ+ Network, for employees. These groups help create a more inclusive workplace, with each network comprising employees from varied roles in the business who encourage change.

Rebecca Hamilton-Adams, Stagecoach relief inspector at Chester and LGBTQ+ Network Co-Lead, said: “Getting involved with Pride celebrations across the UK is a great way to affirm Stagecoach’s commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.

"Putting people at the heart of what we do allows both Stagecoach customers and staff to feel welcomed and safe.”

Tom Cherret, Stagecoach driver and LGBTQ+ Network Co-Lead, said: “We are delighted to be attending so many Pride celebrations for another year as it's a space to show the real you! The LGBTQ+ Network at Stagecoach are passionate about making a difference and creating change.”

Claire Miles, Chief Executive Officer, said; “Inclusivity at Stagecoach is an ongoing commitment, not only during Pride month, to support and enrich our diverse workforce and the communities we serve.

“Alongside our LGBTQ+ employee network, we strive to cultivate a welcoming environment that supports everyone. Our collective voice is crucial in ensuring Stagecoach is a safe and inclusive workplace for all.”
