The Amazon fulfilment centre in Swindon has made a £1,000 donation to Children’s Hospice South West.
The Children's Hospice South West works to provide care for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses and supports the whole family.
The local charity supports families in the South West of England.
This £1,000 donation from Amazon in Swindon could go towards providing 50 hours of care for families in the hospices care.
David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, said: “Children’s Hospice South West offers important support for children and young people, and families, during difficult times. We’re pleased to lend a helping hand with this donation.”
The donation to Children’s Hospice South West was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.
Andreea Brebenar, an employee from Amazon in Swindon who nominated the charity for support, added: “Children’s Hospice South West allows parents of sick children to take a step back from day to day care and simply enjoy being Mum and Dad. I’m grateful to Amazon for offering the charity some much-needed support.”
Heidi Roberts, Area Fundraiser from Children’s Hospice South West, added: “On behalf of Children’s Hospice South West, I want to say thank you to David and everyone at Amazon in Swindon, this donation is going to make a big difference to the families in our care. Children’s Hospice South West relies heavily on kind donations like these, and needs to raise £11m each year to support our families across our 3 hospices.”
Amazon are also providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than six million healthy breakfasts to families in England.
