Neither of the Swindon branches of Wilko are among those named by the troubled store chain as earmarked for closure.
The futures of some 12,000 staff in about 400 shops throughout the country were thrown into jeopoardy.
On Tuesday it was announced that B&M, a rival in the bargain-priced general goods sector, was to purchase 51 Wilko sites.
In the most recent announcement from administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers, it was revealed that 24 stores are to close on Tuesday, 12 September and a further 28 on Thursday, 14 September.
It is not yet known whether there will be further closures.
Swindon's branches are in the town centre and Greenbridge.
