Taking place on Sunday 17 July at the County Ground Athletics Track, Swindon's festival of cycling is free to enter and open to cycling enthusiasts, total novices and those just looking for an entertaining day out.

The event is going to be packed with great demonstrations and displays from cycle manufacturers and special guest, professional freeride mountain bike ride Grant ‘Chopper’ Fielder will be there doing a stunt display.

There will also be lots of family-friendly fun including Les Theatre des Bicyclettes helping visitors learn to ride a unicycle, great tasting food and treats from Pothead and Panface and Old Town’s Rays Ice Cream amongst many other.

Youngsters will also be able to hit the heights with a bouncy castle and have their face painted by Gita from Lapis Lizard.

It has been organised by Mitchell Cycles, Swindon Cycles and a group of cycle-mad specialist volunteers.

Janice Mitchell of Mitchell Cycles, said: “This will be the first Cycle Fest in Swindon and with a great selection of different demonstrations, manufacturers and local bike groups attending, it should be a fantastic day. As with other community events like this, Swindon Cycle Fest has been completely organised by a team of volunteers and we’re looking for more volunteers to help on the day.

“There are lots of different volunteer roles available and so we are still looking for anyone who wants to give up some of their free time on the Sunday to help out.”
