A CCTV image has been released of a man Wiltshire Police would like to speak to following a robbery in Swindon.

The incident occurred between 6.20am and 6.30am on New Year’s Day and officers have been carrying out enquiries to locate CCTV footage related to the offence.

A 40-year-old taxi driver was dropping off three men outside the Victoria pub on Victoria Road, Old Town, when they sprayed alcohol in his face before one of the men threatened him. The other two men then stole approximately £60 cash from the driver’s bag.

PC Hannah Cox said: “This was understandably a frightening experience for the taxi driver – we’ve been carrying out extensive enquiries in relation to this incident to try and identify those responsible.

“If you have any information or if you are able to identify the two men, we’d like to hear from you.”

Please call 101 with information or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
