Swindon & District Samaritans will be holding their next information event so that you can find out more about volunteering.
The event takes place this Saturday at Chiseldon House, Stonehill Green in Westlea from 10am to 11.30am.
The charity is looking for dependable people willing to donate some of their valuable time to help.
The Samaritans have a range of volunteering roles available including as listening volunteers to help people at difficult times of their lives by providing confidential non judgemental emotional support - every six seconds we can help someone turn their life around.
As a Samaritans volunteer said: “I was blown away by how prepared I felt to enter the telephone lines and how helpful everyone was once I began taking calls”
