Swindon charity organisations Big Breakfast Plus and Threshold are accepting donations for Greggs gift cards to feed homeless people.
Ahead of the reopening of its breakfast service in January 2022, Big Breakfast Plus will be working alongside Threshold Housing Link to purchase and distribute Greggs gift cards for those experiencing, or in danger of becoming homeless in Swindon.
A spokesperson for Big Breakfast Plus said: "This year, instead of sending cards in the post or when you are buying gifts for a loved one, you can make a donation to our Christmas appeal for as little as £5.
"Christmas can be a lonely and difficult time for people who are homeless. Could you help us make the festive period a little easier for homeless people in Swindon?"
The charity organisations say all donations raised through this fundraiser will go towards purchasing gift cards, preloaded with funds, so those at risk of or experiencing homelessness can buy breakfast and a hot drink at one of three local Greggs stores in the town centre.
Gift cards will be distributed by outreach workers from Threshold.
The charity have set up a Local Giving fundraiser page online and have set a goal of £1,000.
The appeal will run online until 30 December.
