A Halloween pumpkin decorating competition has been launched by Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust charity Brighter Futures.
Entry costs £2, and participants are invited to email pictures of their work to the charity, which will be feature on its Facebook PUMPKIN GALLERY.
People taking part will receive a pumpkin medal, although supplies are limited so Brighter Futures is urging people to enter now and avoid disppointment.
All proceeds will go toward the charity's Better Births appeal.
A Brighter Futures spokesperson said in a message to potential competition entrants and other donors: "The birth of a child should be a wonderful, life-changing time for a mother and her whole family.
"Your support will help us to raise £80,000 to enable our Maternity Department to provide more personalised family friendly births."
Brighter Futures hopes to buy:
- Mobile fetal heart monitors to enable mothers in labour to be more active
- A multifunctional birthing bed to offer greater choice
- 18 variable height cots to provide better access
Details of the competition can be found in the 'Events' section at https://www.brighterfuturesgwh.nhs.uk/
