This Sunday, hundreds of runners will be gathering at Lydiard Park to take on Cancer Research's Race for Life and Pretty Muddy challenges and raise funds.
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with headline sponsor Standard Life, is a series of 3k, 5k, 10k, Pretty Muddy and Pretty Muddy Kids events which raise millions of pounds.
Cancer Research UK work to help beat cancer by funding crucial research. Money raised at Race for Life enables scientists to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer- helping to save more lives.
This year, (with the Lydiard event being held on Sunday 7 May) marks the 30th year of Race for Life and participants will receive a special medal to mark the milestone.
Entries are still open for Race for Life events across the South West of England.

A breakdown of the timings for this Sunday's events are as follows:
- 10am - 10k
- 11am - 5k & 3k
- 12pm & 12.15pm - Pretty muddy kids
- 1pm, 1.15pm, 1.30pm, 1.45pm - Pretty Muddy
The Cancer Research UK team have also shared some of the details of Sunday's programme:
9.55am: Participants gather at the start line to take part in the 3k and 10k Race for Life events.
10am: The 3k and 10k events get under way.
10.45am: Mass energiser/aerobics warm up. Lots of opportunities to take photos of groups of people taking part.
11am: Participants off on the 5k Race for Life Southampton event.
12pm onwards: Boys and girls aged 5 to 12 years old take part in Pretty Muddy Kids, a mud splattered obstacle course which includes a mud pit, space hoppers and an inflatable slide with plenty of photo opportunities across the course.
12.44pm onwards: Adults - in groups of around 200 at a time- set off on the Pretty Muddy obstacle course every 15 minutes throughout the afternoon.
