Swindon homeless charity, Christmas care, will be holding two food donation days next month.
The donation days are the 14 and 22 of December from 10am - 2pm, at the Haven (opposite Burger King) on Queens Drive.
Christmas Care is a Swindon charity that has provided hospitality for homeless and vulnerable local people every Christmas since 1988. They provide a drop-in day centre for homeless and isolated people in the Swindon area over the Christmas period.
Christmas Care run entirely by volunteers and a small committee, and is funded purely from donations, both cash and donations in kind.
This Christmas they are requesting supplies including:
- Any tinned, dried or long life food (dates into 2025 or beyond)
- Breakfast items including baked beans and jam
- Hot drinks, coffee and tea bags
- Lunch items including rice and pasta sauce
- Snacks such as crisps and biscuits
- Festive foods including cake and chocolate
A spokesperson said: “Any donations no matter how big or small are welcomed from everyone, all donated food is put to good use and nothing goes to waste!
“Any food we have left over is passed onto the Haven and Big Breakfast Plus to continue the great work they do for the homeless and in need locally the rest of the year.
“So never think that your donation doesn't matter, because it does! Without donations, we cannot feed the people that rely on us at Christmas.”
