Coffee morning to take place on Thursday 6th June

On Thursday 6 June the Royal British Legion’s Swindon Pop In will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of D Day with the opening of a new display about D Day, during a special coffee morning.

The coffee morning will be held from 10.30 am to midday, on the 75th anniversary of the first day of Operation Overlord, the code name for D Day.

A new display about D Day will be officially opened during the coffee morning.  The display will focus on the work that the local community did to support D Day, and on the local regiments which took part in D Day and the campaign to liberate Northern Europe.

Children from Ferndale School have written poetry and created art work to help us to remember the sacrifices that so many troops made during D Day, the largest naval, land and air operation in history.

This coffee morning coincides with the second of our joint coffee morning with our friends from Help for Heroes.

All are welcome to come along.

The Pop-in Centre is open Monday to Friday, from 10am to 4pm.
