Doing it for Dan has been selected as one of 30 charities to benefit from the 2023 Sporting Chance Prize Draw.
The Swindon-based charity was set up in memory of 11-year-old Daniel Climance, who tragically lost his life in a road accident in Purton in 2015.
Doing it for Dan, set up by his parents, helps young people to get active and achieve their sporting dreams by awarding grants to individuals and teams in Wiltshire and its neighbouring counties.
Since 2017 the charity has provided grants totalling over £100,000 to over 200 young people and organisations in the local area for sports equipment, kit, and club memberships.
The Sporting Chance Prize Draw is a not-for-profit organisation which brings together the sporting community and charities across the UK. The draw is open to enter from noon on Wednesday, 1 March and closes on Friday, 31 March, with 100 percent of every £10 entry going to Sporting Chance Prize Draw charity partners including Doing it for Dan.
A £10 entry in the draw could win you one of 80 sporting prizes including Olympic Games tickets with Team GB, skiing weekends, Henley Regatta hospitality tickets or a school visit by a top athlete.
Daniel’s mum, Helen Hancock, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be one of the selected charities to benefit from the Sporting Chance Prize Draw.
"As a tiny charity this is a brilliant opportunity for us to raise funds and awareness for our charity. A lot of the prizes on offer are ‘money can’t buy’ experiences, and by choosing to support Doing it for Dan when you enter the draw, 100 percent of the money you give will go directly to us - ensuring that we can continue to support young people engaging in sport in our local area.”
Sporting Chance Prize Draw’s Founder, Simon Jacot, said: “Our not-for-profit, Prize Draw platform was set up to help support small, life-changing charities like Doing it for Dan. Every penny raised goes to our charity partners.
"We are thrilled to be partnered with Doing it for Dan and look forward to what will be the biggest and most exciting Sporting Chance Prize Draw campaign so far, this March”.
