The collaboration will see a donation from every property sold go to support unpaid carers in the town.

Swindon Carers Centre is the first port of call for anyone living in Swindon carrying out an unpaid caring role for a family member, partner, or friend.

The charity aims to give carers the opportunity to live a fulfilling life alongside their caring role – helping them to look after themselves as well as others.

Perry Bishop opened in Swindon in September and is a multi-award-winning property service with offices across Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and now Wiltshire, and has been listed in Rightmove’s Best Estate Agent Guide for three years running.

Paul Dearing, Perry Bishop’s Associate Partner for Swindon, said: “Looking at a typical family situation during the covid-19 pandemic, it is difficult enough without having to care for someone.

“When you’re a carer, you can be any age. I see the headlines about young carers and the responsibilities they have to take on at that age.

"It must be so hard on them, and equally on those who need a respite break, but are unable to go anywhere.

“It just struck a chord with me, which is why I’m excited to get involved – especially with events throughout the year, covid-19 permitting.”

Judy Evans, Partnerships Manager at Swindon Carers Centre, said: “We are delighted to be chosen as Perry Bishop’s charity of the year.

In a year that is financially challenging for everyone, it is such a kind gesture.  As well as raising funds to give our carers the breaks they need and deserve, this will ensure awareness of carers is increased too.

"This partnership will enable us to reach more carers to give them our support - thank you from Swindon Carers Centre.”

By choosing to partner with Swindon Carers Centre, Perry Bishop is giving its support at a vital time during the Covid-19 pandemic, which is causing many additional pressures for unpaid carers in the town.

With many carers unable to access respite, to give them a break from their caring role the Swindon Carers Centre team is continuing to offer expert advice and support, as well as the chance for carers to connect with each other through new online groups.
