This May, Prospect Hospice proudly celebrates 45 years of compassionate care—and they’re marking the occasion with a big celebration: Challenge 45!
For 45 years, Prospect Hospice has been at the heart of the community, offering compassionate care to patients and families when they need it most. This year, they’re inviting you to take on Challenge 45 – a fundraising initiative aiming to raise £45,000, where the only limit is your imagination!
Take on a 45-mile walk, host a 45-minute quiz night, or bake and sell 45 cupcakes. However you choose to get involved, your efforts will help them to continue providing essential care and support.
Sinéad Nolan-Martin, Prospect Hospice’s Community and Events Fundraising Co-ordinator, said: “We’re inviting our incredible community of supporters, like you, to take on your own Challenge 45 in honour of our birthday and help raise vital funds for the future of hospice care.”
One of the amazing supporters, Michelle, is taking on an incredible Challenge 45 to celebrate the birthday by walking 45 miles in just one week, despite living with lymphoedema caused by cancer treatment. She’s already raised over £700 in one week.
Michelle credits the Prospect Hospice lymphoedema team with helping her stay mobile and independent. She said: “If I hadn’t been coming here, I don’t think I’d be able to walk—let alone take on a challenge like this. The support I’ve had from the hospice has made all the difference.”
Affectionately naming her swollen leg "Bob", Michelle said: “I’ll be walking 45 miles in 7 days. As you all know me, you know that for me—and Bob—this is going to be quite a challenge!”
Her inspiring challenge is a heartfelt thank you to the team who’ve supported her for over 15 years.
Will you join Michelle and take on your own Challenge 45? Whether it’s running, baking, crafting or dancing—every challenge helps Prospect Hospice support more patients and families when they need them most.
