IPSUM Swindon has announced that UK singer and rapper S1MBA is its new music patron, who will work with and inspire the charity's younger cohort.
After months of much excitement, the IPSUM team can finally reveal that it has a music patron to work with its young music studio users.
IPSUM is privileged to be collaborating with UK rapper and singer-songwriter, S1MBA.
The charity is based in Swindon, and supports people in the town and the surrounding areas to help address issues such as mental, psychological, and emotional health through a range of therapeutic interventions including talking therapies, music and art.
S1MBA rose to fame with his song Rover going viral on Tik Tok. He was also nominated for a Brit Award in the category Song of the Year.
The rapper was a student at New College in Swindon, where he had the opportunity to really focus on his music. This is said to be the turning point, where his career started to take off.
S1MBA talked to the IPSUM team about the need for more opportunities for young people in Swindon to be able to 'zone into what they want to do.'
Having visited IPSUM HQ and seeing the studios and equipment we have in both Basement 13 and the Digital Audio Workstation, S1MBA said he feels the charity's space creates so much opportunity for those that would not necessarily have the opportunity to get involved in music.
S1MBA explained why he was keen to become a patron for IPSUM.
He said: "There is so much undiscovered talent within Swindon and surrounding areas, and its great that people have somewhere like IPSUM.
"It's is a safe space where you can do what you love."
A spokesperson from IPSUM added: "We have been bursting to tell members of the public our big news here at IPSUM. Watch this space for a new and exciting venture coming soon!
"A massive thankyou also goes to the Lottery Community Fund that has made it possible for us to support our younger cohort."
