The Songs from the Heart variety event will be returning to Swindon to raise funds for Prospect Hospice.
Swindon man, Tim Whiting, has worked with a team to put together another 'Songs from the Heart' show this year, after the event was first started in 2021.
He has received sponsorship from the Piano Gallery in Farringdon again for the 2022 event, which will take place at the Deanery CE Academy, in Wichelstowe (SN1 7BX).
The shows will run on Sunday 9 October at 2.30pm, and at 6.30pm. Tickets are priced at £5, but attendees are welcome to pay over this fee if they can.
Tim describes the show as 'a sensational, feel-good, unmissable song and dance extravaganza.'
This year's line up will feature:
- Swing Birds Big Band with vocalist Kym Rose
- Local choirs including The Swindon Songbirds, Guys ‘n’ Dolls, The Deanery CE Academy, Carers' Voices and the Cantantini Youth Choir (matinee only)
- Duets by Arthur Proffitt and Terry Morris.
- Soloist performances from Ellen Travers-Gaisford and Rachel Smith
- Miss Kel’s Dance Academy.
- The Special Moment, massed choir, special guests and the Grand Finale.
In addition, there will be a raffle - with tickets priced a £1.00 each - where individuals will be in with the chance of winning a variety of prizes.
Programmes for the event will cost £2.00, and there will be bar facilities providing alcohol free drinks and ice cream. Refreshments on the day will include ice cream, tea, coffee, muffins, and cookies.
Members of the public will need to arrive early if they wish to pre-order drinks for the interval.
Tim will also be once again giving members of the public the opportunity to be a part of the show's Special Moment section.
Attendees can pass along the name of a loved one to be projected onto the screen during the massed choir's rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone.' The individual's loved one's name will also appear in the event's programme. The deadline for the Special Moment inclusion is 30 September.
Those interested can email the name using the contact form at ticketsource, stating the performance they will be attending - either the matinee or the evening.
As well as The Piano Gallery, Tim wished to give thanks to other businesses and organisations that have helped with the Songs From the Heart event.
He said: "We have been generously supported by espcolour.co.uk who produced all our printed material free of charge, and by Hall & Woodhouse who have ensured we can offer an alcohol-free bar, refreshments and ice cream this year.
"I would also like to thank the many volunteers supporting the Songs from the Heart 2, shows. All ticket, raffle and programme money will go to Prospect due to the generosity of our sponsors, and all the volunteer helpers, front of House and backstage, and all the acts, who are all performing, or working, free of charge."
Organisers of the event are reminding members of the public that the venue is a strictly nut free, tuna free, no smoking, no chewing gum, site.
Free parking will be available at the Deanery but attendees are being reminded to car share if they can.
