Swindon & District Samaritans volunteer director, Darren Tee, was thrilled to receive over £550 from Caroline Day and Chris Waddell, on behalf of Swindon Open Studios’ artists following this year’s very successful community event.
Swindon Open Studios chose to support Swindon & District Samaritans because art is a form of therapy which can help address mental health issues whilst Samaritans offer a safe space to talk, to anyone who is struggling to cope.
Darren reflected on the supportive synergy between the two groups whilst acknowledging the significant difference this donation will make in enabling Swindon & District Samaritans to keep the phone lines open, saying: “we are only able to be here for those who need us most, thanks to the generosity of our local community and the talented artists of Swindon Open Studios – we so appreciate their support as well as their creativity.”
