The much-loved annual High Sheriff’s Concert will be back in Swindon next month.

It promises an uplifting evening of music and community spirit, all in support of a vital cause.

Taking place from 7.30pm on Saturday 17th May at Christ Church in Old Town, the event will raise funds for Society Without Abuse, Swindon’s long-standing charity working to combat domestic abuse through education, prevention, and early intervention.

It will be hosted by The High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Martin Nye, who was appointed to the role earlier this month.

Headlining the evening for the second year running is Swindon’s dynamic and hugely popular all-female swing band, Swing Birds, whose infectious energy and musical talent always ensure a great atmosphere and dancing in the aisles.

Swing-lovers can choose to attend just the concert, priced at £10, or for £20 per person purchase tickets that include entry to the post-show reception, offering a chance to mingle over drinks and a light buffet and further support the charity.

Event organiser Nicky Alberry DL, a former High Sheriff of Wiltshire and long-time supporter of the charity said: “The High Sheriff's Concert is always a great night of music, fun, and connection.

"Swing Birds are not only inspiring but exceptionally talented at getting everyone up and dancing – it’s impossible not to be swept up by their energy! Most importantly, this event helps raise vital funds to tackle domestic abuse in our society.

"Through education, prevention, and early intervention, we can change lives – and it all starts with community support.”

High Sheriff of Wiltshire Martin Nye said: “I’m delighted to be hosting this year’s High Sheriff’s Concert for such a truly important cause.  I’m really looking forward to an exciting evening of superb music, and the opportunity to connect with the marvellous people, organisations and charities that make our county such a strong and compassionate community.  Please come and join us.”

Proceeds from the evening will directly support Society Without Abuse’s ongoing work across Swindon and the surrounding area, helping those impacted by domestic abuse.
