Voluntary Action Swindon joins with Colas to sustain Swindon Shopmobility

Colas, a leading infrastructure solutions provider, has joined forces with Voluntary Action Swindon (VAS) to make a positive impact on the lives of residents with limited mobility. Colas is supporting the Swindon Shopmobility service, enabling individuals to navigate town centre shops and facilities independently.

Colas has contributed £3,000 to ensure the operation of 25 mobility scooters for one year. This donation will enable Swindon Shopmobility to buy batteries for their scooters ensuring residents maintain their independence and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.

This demonstrates Colas’ commitment to enhancing accessibility but also highlights the positive social impact it will have on reducing loneliness and isolation among people with mobility issues in the community.

The Swindon Shopmobility service, powered by Colas, plays a crucial role in enabling over 2000 individuals each year to independently access shops, cafés, opticians, pharmacies, and banks. By providing essential mobility solutions, we are committed to promoting inclusivity and empowering individuals with mobility challenges in the community.

Swindon Shopmobility offers a range of mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and power chairs, available for hire at affordable rates. Prices start from just £2 per day. Daily and weekly wheelchair hire options are also available, with prices starting at £10 per day or £20 for one week. Additional Service and Maintenance offer!

Mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs can now be serviced at Swindon Shopmobility for £50 and, where required, customers can have use of a Shopmobility mobility scooter while their own is being serviced.
