Voluntary Action Swindon is inviting trustees of voluntary groups to join its new trustee network.
The launch event will be held on Wednesday, 19 May from 10 to 11.30 am, and all trustees and people thinking of becoming trustees are welcome.
Bob Barrett, Chair of Trustees for VAS says “Voluntary Action Swindon (VAS) is proud to be launching the Swindon Trustee Network this May via Zoom.
"We would like to encourage trustees of local organisations and anyone that is thinking of becoming a trustee to attend this event.
"Trustees are an essential part of any charitable organisation; they are the accountable decision-makers and responsible for the success or failure of the organisation."
VAS says the network will present opportunities for trustees and would be trustees to share ideas, network and benefit from the experience of others
The launch event will include a talk by Swindon Borough Council Director of Public Health Steve Maddern on returning to work and how best to support staff. He will also give an update on the council's response to the pandemic.
Voluntary Action Swindon (VAS) is the Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) in Swindon.
A CVS is a charity which supports other charities and coordinates voluntary activity in the local area, as opposed to a frontline charity which supports individuals directly.
A CVS is also a forum through which local voluntary and community organisations and statutory sector organisations can communicate with each other and work together.
