On Thursday 21 December Swindon Wildcats will be hosting their annual Teddy Bear Toss, a night which is always put aside in the calendar of all the Cats fans.
With the rink re-opening last weekend, The Wildcats have confirmed that teddies will be flying on the first Wildcats goal when they host the Bees IHC on Thursday evening.
This year, the teddies will be collected and donated to the Salvation Army who do amazing work in around the Swindon area as well as across the country.
A Wildcats spokesperson said: "Collection of the Teddy bears this year will go another massive way to help support the young children in the local area and we can’t wait to see the fur fly onto the new ice at the Better Link Centre.
"Buy a new teddy bear or two (no taller than 12 inches preferably) which MUST include a CE label (which ensures that the manufacturer has checked that these products meet EU safety, health or environmental requirements).
"Place it in a clear plastic bag (for protection from the surface of the ice) and tie the top closed.
"Then throw it onto the ice when the home side scores our first goal of the evening! If the Wildcats fail to score during the 60-minutes, fans will toss the teddy bears anyway – straight after the final buzzer."
