Christ Church is celebrating a decade of community impact, by launching a fundraising competition for Youth Swindon UK.

The church has announced the launch of the competition to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its community centre.

In collaboration with local businesses and renowned entrepreneur Nick Hewer of Apprentice and Countdown fame, the centre invites young minds to participate in an entrepreneurial challenge that fosters creativity and community engagement.

The 'Innovative Fundraising Idea Competition' aims to inspire young people in specific age categories to devise pioneering fundraising concepts for Christ Church and the community centre or another charity.

The categories are: Ages 8-11 (Junior School), 11-16 (Secondary School) and 17-18 (College students).

Entries will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of local business professionals, including Nick Hewer, on 20 January 2024.

Chris Smith, Site Operations Manager at Christ Church said: "We're immensely proud to mark our 10-year milestone by empowering the next generation of innovators

"This competition not only encourages entrepreneurial thinking but also offers a platform for youth to contribute meaningfully to our community's growth."

The top three entries from each age category will have the exclusive opportunity to pitch their concepts to the panel.

The winners in each age bracket will see their visions materialize as they receive the chance to implement their fundraising initiatives at Christ Church.

They will also be rewarded with coveted work experience placements at esteemed establishments such as Excalibur Communications, Hilton Hotels, Gel Studios, and Prime Studios, amplifying their exposure to professional environments and nurturing their skills.

Chris said "We are grateful for the support of our esteemed partners, who generously offer these valuable work experiences

"It's an unparalleled opportunity for the winners to gain hands-on knowledge and contribute to the broader community through their innovative ideas."

The deadline for submissions is 20 December 20.
