Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was taken to hospital in Swindon with serious head injuries.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to Great Western Hospital yesterday evening (17/02/19) with facial injuries.

He collapsed in hospital and doctors have now determined that he has suffered a serious head injury. His condition is described as serious but stable.

It is not yet clear if a crime has been committed or if he sustained his injuries accidentally, so enquiries are ongoing.

Det Sgt Adam Leakey, from Swindon CID, said: “We believe the victim was involved in an argument or disorder in Eastcott Street, in New Town, at around 6.40pm and then again in Havelock Street, at around 7.15pm.

“As we don’t know how he came to be injured we are interested in speaking to anyone who either witnessed either of these incidents or who was directly involved in them.”

If you can help please call Swindon CID on 101, and quote crime reference 54190016415. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
