David Wilson Homes announce Prospect Hospice as charity of the year

David Wilson Homes Southern has announced its charity of the year for 2018 as Swindon-based Prospect Hospice.

Staff who work for the developer, which is located in Hungerford, Berkshire, will commit the rest of the year to raising funds for the worthy cause and will do this via dress down days and fundraising events including a charity dinner.

“It is a pleasure to be able to support the vital work being carried out by the team and the work they do for people with life-limiting illnesses is very admirable.

“Each year our company commits its fundraising efforts to a particular charity and we are looking forward to supporting Prospect Hospice throughout 2018.”

David Wilson Homes Southern’s head office recently announced it had raised a total of £45,000 for its 2017 charity Swings and Smiles, which will now go towards supporting children with special needs.

Amy Francombe, Corporate Fundraiser at Prospect Hospice, said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone at David Wilson Homes for choosing to support the work of Prospect Hospice throughout the year ahead.

“Last year, it cost £8.2 million to provide our specialist care and support to 6,637 patients and family members in Swindon, Marlborough and north-east Wiltshire. With just 28 per cent of our funding from the NHS, we rely on the generosity of people in the community to be able to continue to deliver our services."
