Education provider Launch2Learning has become an approved exam centre for Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills educational qualifications.
Students at the Royal Wootton Bassett provider are now able to take examinations in English, maths and ICT at the company’s learning centres in Royal Wootton Bassett, Calne and Oaksey.
Functional Skills qualifications are academic awards designed to equip students with practical skills required in education, work and everyday life.
They are widely accepted by employers as alternatives to GCSEs and can help with access to further education colleges. They can be taken all year round and pre-exam assessments are undertaken by Launch2Learning to help ensure good pass rates.
In addition to the facilities for examinations to be sat at Launch2Learning centres, arrangements can also be made for them to be undertaken in other settings and localities, or even in students’ own homes, where necessary.
Launch2Learning director Marie Wykes said: “We are thrilled to have passed the approval process and received this accreditation.
"It enables us to offer students greater opportunities to sit valuable exams which can help their learning and job prospects, as well as broadening the range of services we offer at our learning centres.”
