Students from Bradon Forest School took an overnight coach trip on the Eurotunnel which took them through France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.

Staff said the coach trip ensured the group arrived bright and early at the Essex Farm Cemetery and then on to the In Flanders Field Museum at Ypres.

The group then made a quick stop at the Hasselt hypermarket in the afternoon, before travelling onto Aachen where they stayed in a youth hostel.

The next day's itinerary involved a visit the Lindt factory, followed by some free time for the students to explore the Christmas markets and visit Aachen Cathedral.

A spokesperson for Bradon Forest added: "We were up again, bright and early on Saturday morning to travel to Bruges for the day before travelling home. The students were tired but excited by all that they had seen on the trip."
