Staff and pupils at Bridlewood primary school in Swindon are celebrating achieving the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to sports and games across their school and in the community.
Pupils in Years 5 and 6 came third in the recent Quadkids event for Swindon schools along with the overall individual winning boy and overall individual second-placed girl in this competition.
Those results mean Bridlewood also qualified in the small schools category for the Wiltshire school games at Dauntsey’s school tomorrow - 2 July.
Bridlewood Head Teacher Vicky Sammon said: “We are delighted to have been recognised for our success in developing our sports programmes with such a prestigious government-backed award.
"Our pupils love to compete in a wide range of sports and games and we are so proud of all their achievements. Physical exercise and team events are such an important part of the education we provide.”
