A-Level and vocational excellence at Commonweal

The largest ever cohort of Post 16 students achieved a very impressive set of A Level and vocational qualifications. 
Commonweal staff are very proud of the achievements of all of their students who have demonstrated resilience and determination.
Students achieved 18% of grades at AA, including a record number of A*s, almost half of all grades at grade B or above and the largest ever number securing their choice of university place. 
A school spokesperson said: "These very pleasing figures should ensure that the Sixth Form has performed very well against national and local performance figures whilst continuing to flourish and grow by attracting students from across the area. 
"These measures demonstrate that Commonweal Sixth Form has once again been successful in achieving its goals of helping students to gain high levels of academic qualification and progress onwards to further academic studies.
"Commonweal is proud of the achievement of all of its students." 
Among many notable individual performances were: Eve Sullivan A*, A, A, B (Mathematics, Bath); Joe Bozzuto A, A, A (Apprenticeship, GXO Logistics); Greg Bowler A*, A*, A; Lauren Burch A*, A, A (Computer Science, Cardiff); Lucie Easdon A*, A*, A*(Medicine, Bristol); Eden Giles A*, A*, A (Law, Bristol); Ethan Ho A*, A, A, B (Computer Science, Manchester); Mercy Lok A*,A*, A (Chemical Engineering, Bath); Yehia Sarhan A*, A*, A*, A* (Medicine, Cambridge).
The spokesperson added: "It is evident from the performances of many of its students that Commonweal continues to build upon its strong reputation in supporting students, from a wide range of starting points, to achieve their academic and personal potential. 
"As always, we have been impressed by the commitment, focus and ambition of our students in successfully making another important step towards their goals. 
"As such, we are delighted to see our highest ever number of students progress onto higher-level degree courses, apprenticeships and employment."
Commonweal Head Teacher Chas Drew said, ‘It is always brilliant to see so many students celebrating their success today and we will continue to work hard for those students who need additional support to achieve their potential. 
"As always, we are absolutely committed to helping our students successfully make the next step toward their goals."
Year 13 students now leave the school for the next exciting chapter in their lives and the school wishes them the very best. 
The school's commitment remains to work with a very broad range of students to ensure that they are able to achieve above and beyond their own expectations, and the team thank all parents and carers for their continued support during the challenging two years of A Level and Level 3 study.
