A second day of closure has been announced by The Dorcan Academy.
The move follows what was described as a minor fire at the school yesterday afternoon - Wednesday 8 January.
Shortly afterwards the school announced on social media that it had contractors on site who were due back today for a thorough check of the school site, meaning the school would be closed.
Earlier today - Thursday 9 January - in a further announcement, the school said: "Following the fire that occurred yesterday we have had contractors on site today and they are due back tomorrow to continue with a complete check of the whole site, therefore we will have to remain closed tomorrow.
"Hopefully we will be able to confirm tomorrow that we will re-open on Monday. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Online learning will be set again for tomorrow."
