Pupils of Lawn Manor Academy were this morning collecting their GCSE results.
Although details had yet to be made public, headteacher Sandra Muir was delighted with the overall outcome of the young people's studies.
She said: "Year 11 pupils at Lawn Manor Academy have worked hard throughout this challenging time and were well supported by our skilful staff to ensure that pupils have the qualifications that they need to move on to their next stage in education, whether that be sixth form, college or an apprenticeship.
"Staff and pupils have high aspirations at Lawn Manor, and it is reassuring to know that the results today will set pupils upon the path to study medicine, sciences, architecture, and the arts - to mention just a few subjects at university – as well as equipping those who wish to follow a more practical career route in an apprenticeship.
“One of our I Learn values is resilience, and our pupils have shown that in abundance over the last few years. I am delighted that they have not only come through this challenging time, but they have done so with positive attitudes and a commendable work ethic."
Th headteacher added: “We are immensely proud of these pupils and their achievements, and I am delighted that their hard work has paid off.
"I would also like to thank the amazing staff that we have at Lawn Manor who have taught and supported these pupils so well over the past five years.”
