Lawn Manor Academy has been officially recognised for its commitment to preparing young people for the future.
The Swindon school has received a prestigious Silver Award from the Skills Builder Partnership.
The national award highlights the school’s leadership in embedding essential skills, such as teamwork, problem solving and speaking, directly into the daily curriculum.
This award is one of fewer than 60 gold and silver awards this year for essential skills education.

Developing essential skills alongside traditional academic subjects is designed to support broader educational and career readiness.
At Lawn Manor Academy, these core essential skills are taught explicitly within existing lessons, helping students connect classroom learning with real-world applications.
Lawn Manor Academy achieved the Silver Award by embedding essential skill development into tutor time and dedicated fortnightly lessons for Key Stage 3.
Students utilise reflection workbooks to self-assess their progress, set individual targets, and build strong skill awareness.
All teaching staff receive training to weave core skills into subject lessons and extracurricular activities, while mock interviews and career events provide practical real-world experience.
