More than 97 per cent of pupils in Swindon have been offered a place at one of their three preferred secondary schools for this September.
Swindon Borough Council’s School Admissions team received 2,955 on-time applications this year, with 97.4 percent of pupils offered one of their top three preferences. Of those, 87.7 percent secured their top choice.
Parents were due to receive an email today - 3 March - confirming where their child has been offered a place, providing they applied by last October’s national deadline.
Parents will need to log back into their parent portal account to accept their offer.
Cllr Adorabelle Amaral-Shaikh, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, said: “Our School Admissions team work incredibly hard to process the number of applications we receive each year for secondary school places and I want to say a huge thank you to them.
“I’m pleased that we’ve successfully allocated 2,572 pupils their first-choice secondary school for this September.
“I’d like to wish all our Year 6 pupils who are transitioning to secondary school the very best of luck as they continue with their education.”
