Pupils at St George’s Church of England Primary School in Semington near Melksham have buried a special time capsule on their school grounds.
The project, which saw children fill the capsule with drawings, letters and mementos from daily life in 2025, was organised in partnership with the housebuilder, which is currently building new homes at Buckley Gardens in Semington, to help capture a snapshot of the present day for future generations.
As part of the celebration, the housebuilder also presented the school with more than £500-worth of books from Usborne Books to its library, to help encourage a lifelong love of reading among the 91 pupils who attend the school from reception up to Year 6.
Principal Tiffany Butcher said: “This has been such an exciting and meaningful project for the children. Not only have they thought about what’s important to them now, but they’ve also considered what future pupils might like to know.
Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: “It was a pleasure to work with St George’s Church of England Primary School on this creative and thoughtful project.
