STEM-focused school and sixth form UTC Swindon will open its doors to prospective students on Thursday 29 February from 5-7pm.
The aim is to show them what a technical education looks like.
UTC Swindon specialises in digital, cyber security and engineering alongside the usual curriculum and works closely with employers to give pupils industry-specific skills and knowledge.
New for 2024 is the Digital Futures Programme, a unique curriculum in the engineering pathway that gives students transferable skills needed for careers in the booming digital infrastructure industry.
The school is inviting applications from people aged 14-18.
Visitors to the open event will be able to explore the IT suites, classrooms and engineering floor, as well as hearing from students, staff and employer partners.
UTC are STEM-focused secondary schools and sixth forms set up in partnership with local employers, who input into the curriculum to ensure students leave school work ready. They are designed to provide clear pathways for young people into academic study and technical careers.
From day one, students are engaged in solving genuine problems using industry specialist equipment.
Students learn in a business-like environment working on projects similar to those found in the real world of work. This helps give them a head-start in their chosen careers.
