Westonbirt’s National Arboretum was last night transformed into a winter wonderland at the launch of The Forestry Commission’s annual Enchanted Christmas light festival.
Enchanted Christmas runs over long weekends from 1 December to 8 December attracting thousands of families from all over the UK to witness the country’s most dazzling display of lights and visual effects in the surroundings of Westonbirt’s beautiful National Arboretum.
As well as playing host to a dazzling light display, this year’s attraction brims with exciting interactive features along the trail taking in high-tech projections and digital screens. Enchanted Christmas also includes a raft of activities including a hot chocolate stall, a giant snow making machine and free festive crafts to foster creativity amongst family members.
Paul Cody, Head of Visitor Attraction, Forestry Commission said: “This year’s Enchanted Christmas is going to be our most impressive feat yet. Set within the beautiful National Arboretum it really is a festive treat for all the family the walk will include annual favourites such as the Singing Tree, the Giant Smoke Ring Canon and the Leaf Keyboard with the addition of new surprises for 2017 to keep regular visitors thrilled.
“Because Enchanted Christmas proves more popular with each passing year all tickets must be pre-booked via phone or online, with timed entry for the trail itself and the rest of the evening to enjoy the festivities. That way everyone that comes to see us also gets to meet Father Christmas during the course of their visit."
Some of the popular slots are sold out but tickets are still available for some time slots on the following days :
