Healthcare staff interested in providing care and treatment outside of hospital are invited to attend an upcoming recruitment day hosted by Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Taking place on Saturday 28 January, the event at the Orbital Shopping Park in North Swindon is an opportunity for new and experienced physiotherapists and occupational therapists to join the teams caring for people in their own homes across the town.

The recruitment day, which runs from 10am until 4pm, is the first event of its kind since the Trust was appointed as the new provider of community healthcare services in Swindon.

Current members of staff will be on hand throughout the day to talk about the fulfilling nature and rewards of a job in community healthcare and to answer any questions candidates may have.

Ashley Oakshott, Interim Head of Recruitment, said: “The next few years will see the NHS put more and more emphasis on providing quality care in the community and this event is our chance to find the right people to make this vision a reality.

“We’re looking for new and experienced healthcare professionals with the right skills and values to join us as we look to build on Swindon’s community services to make them the best they can be for the patients who need them.

“There’s something very special about caring for someone in their own home - not only does it help patients get back on their feet, it can also hand them back their independence, meaning they’re able to enjoy an active and varied life.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for any healthcare professional looking to make a real difference while giving care with a smile.”

People coming along on the day can also find out more about flexible working options, including positions available within the Bank - the Trust’s internal staffing agency which lets employees pick and choose shifts around personal commitments, such as childcare.

Working in the NHS comes with a wide range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, dedicated study time, 27 days annual leave and access to exclusive local and national retail discounts.

Although the event will work on a drop-in basis, candidates who would like to be considered for an interview on the day should apply online through the NHS Jobs website.
