Central Swindon North Parish –

Even Swindon Ward (2 seats)

Steph Exell (Labour)

Kevin Small (Labour)

Ferndale Ward (3 seats)

Des Moffatt (Labour)

Javes Rodrigues (Labour)

James Yeowell (Labour)

I oppose the Parishing of the Unparished areas throughout the town. We had no referendum. A Conservative Council are washing their hands of many failing and underfunded services and are imposing a tax hike on the community which is very divisive and is angering a lot of people, especially now their Council Tax bills have arrived.

As a Parish Councillor I will always have my eye on the budget and will be working as part of a team for the whole of North Central and Ferndale. There are many outstanding issues in the area and a lot needs to be done. Current amenities need to be maintained and many need to be brought up to a better standard. I will be supporting the local libraries and environmental issues within the Parish will be paramount in my thoughts and decisions.
I feel I can bring a different view to the fore due my background and individuality. I also haven't held such a position before. That needn't be an issue and I feel it's important that people are welcomed from all demographics and affiliations (such as Independents, Residents’ Associations and Disabled candidates, &c.).

I will not just be a Councillor who turns up to meetings but someone who is out in the community listening to the concerns of the residents and visiting amenities regularly to make sure they're being maintained properly. I look forward to serving North Central and Ferndale.

James R. Yeowell, B.Sc. (Hons.)

Gorsehill Ward (3 seats)

Aubrey Attwater (Let the local people speak)

Ray Ballman (Labour)

Hannah Fullick (Labour)

Tom Smith (Labour)

Steve Thompson (Green)

I am Steve Thompson the Green Party candidate for Gorsehill. I have lived in Gorsehill for thirty years and my children went to Gorsehill primary school. I was a parent governor while they were there. I am on the executive committee of the JTPTrust a local charity. I am the chairman of Hreod Burna Uban Forest the old allotments and woods next to Southbrook rec.

I am proud to say I was involved in saving this 15 acres of public land from being developed and it was my alternative plan to turn this area into an urban forest that persuaded the council to give HBUF a lease.

If elected I will persuade the parish council: to renovate the toilets in Chapel street, these are a disgrace.

Reopen Gorsehill branch library, the elderly, disabled and children from Gorsehill school deserve an accessible library.

I would hold weekly surgeries in a convenient location in Gorsehill so people would have access to their councillor.

I would consult local people and businesses on how to make Gorsehill shopping centre as dynamic as it was thirty years ago.

Moredon Ward (1 seat)

Steve Henderson (Labour)

Penhill Ward (2 seats)

Paul Baker (Labour)

Nathan McGlynn (UKIP)

Nathan McGlynn lives in Penhill and is the UKIP candidate for the Penhill Ward.

The Penhill area needs more parking spaces and a strong local voice to protect community services.

More effort is needed to tackle the litter problem and other forms of anti social activity.

Nathan McGlynn works for a security company and he also gives many of his weekends working as a volunteer to improve safety on the streets at night.

His interests are rugby and football and quiz nights at his local pub.

Manage Parking - Utilise some of the green space to accommodate more parking spaces to solve the parking problems. Penhill was not originally planned to hold so many cars and the area must be developed to accommodate the parking problem.

Family - Support local families and loneliness by keeping our children's centres open and community spaces open. Encourage funding for these facilities.

Litter - Help tackle the litter problem in Penhill.

Anti-social  Behavour - Help tackle anti-social behaviour by encouraging more PCO's/Bobbies on the beat and encourage support for out local community groups

Kenneth Toward-Parker (Independent)

Pinehurst Ward (3 seats)

John Ballman (Labour)

Olivia McCann

Derique Montaut (Labour)

Rodbourne Cheney Ward (2 seats)

Mike Dunn (Liberal Democrat)

I am married with three children and four grandchildren and have lived and worked in Swindon for most of my life. Initially working for BT, I then ran a training and consultancy business based at Pembroke House in Rodbourne. I am now a Senior Fellow at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham.

I believe passionately that the hardworking families of Rodbourne and Cheney Ward should be represented by the Lib Dems. We are one of the three major English political parties, but Labour is falling apart under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn, and do not provide an effective Opposition. The Conservatives on the other hand, are intent on an austerity programme with their major cuts to key public services, benefit payments and tax credits being rammed through now.

Key issue; The Moredon and Rodbourne Cheney library has had its opening times cut significantly and will stay open due to voluntary community plans rather than borough council money. This is something I can influence at the Central Swindon North Parish Council.

Representing the Lib Dems, my aim, by using my professional experience, is to be an effective and professional councillor and so protect and defend the interests of the residents of Rodbourne Cheney.

Paul Exell (Independent)

Mick Lucas (Independent)

if as they are, the toilets in chapel street in such a disgusting state, why the parish hasn't said they wont take it on, until the council refurbishes it 100%, and nothing until then. Why should tax payers, who pave paid out thousands, now have to pay out to do this upgrade..

Why have we not received polling cards in the Pinehurst area. I live in Hornbeam Court and have had nothing come through despite being registered.
