Huge new gym at Link Centre opens after extensive rebuild

The £1 million expansion of the gym at Link Centre in West Swindon opens its doors to the public on Monday 12 December.

Now occupying the whole of the second level on the south side of the building, the fitness facilities are at least five times larger than previously with 120 machines, an astro-turf functional fitness area including tyres, battle ropes, kettle bells, as well as brand new changing facilities.

Link Centre sales manager Rich Franklin said: ”We’re very excited to introduce our brand new functional training area, cardio theatre and free weight section."

And the refurbishment is not yet completed. By the end of December, the Group Cycle room will have had a make-over, and by the end of February, the floor of the former Gradwell Hall will have been repaired, sanded and revarnished, the décor improved and new heating and ventilation systems upgraded.

Now’s the time to give yourself an early Christmas present by trying out the new gym with the help of the fitness team led by Wendy Humphries.
