Wiltshire Police are asking the thousands of supporters attending the match between Swindon Town and Newport County Saturday 25 November at 3pm to support the police and both clubs in making public safety a priority before, during and after the game.
Police are urging supporters to enjoy the match, but to also be aware of the following important information:
- Home supporters can buy tickets on the day but it is ticket only for away fans
- The Great Western Pub and The Savoy will be accepting away fans
- All supporters are encouraged to get to their seats as early as possible due to a large crowd expected
Match Commander Superintendent Sue Austin said: “Three points for Swindon Town isn’t the only priority on Saturday. We want to make sure that everyone gets home safe.
“We are working closely with our partner agencies, including Swindon Town and Newport County, to make this a safe and enjoyable experience for all whilst reducing the impact of this event to the local community.
“The public may notice an increased police presence before, during and after the match. This is to maintain public safety whilst minimising community disruption."
