Bowood House and Gardens has a range of fun and educational activities for families over the Easter holidays, with the ‘BIG Spring Adventure’ taking place from Saturday 5 to Monday 21 April.
The highlight is an engaging Easter Egg Trail, which runs primarily around the estate’s lake and arboretum. Upon arrival, children will receive a complimentary activity booklet and follow a marked trail through the grounds.
The trail features activity points, fun facts, puzzles, and codebreaking challenges. Children must uncover letters along the way to form a hidden word, which they can exchange for a chocolate treat.
In addition to the trail, daily arts and crafts sessions will take place (excluding Thursday 10 April) from noon to 4pm. These drop-in sessions are included in admission and feature spring-themed activities such as colouring, cutting, and sticking.
Over the Easter weekend (from Friday 18 to Monday 21 April), visitors can also enjoy face painting in the Adventure Playground. Please note this activity is weather permitting.
Adding to the jam-packed spring activities, Bowood will host a special egg hunt with five golden eggs and one rainbow egg hidden daily across the grounds. Those lucky enough to find a golden egg can exchange it for a large chocolate treat, while the finder of the rainbow egg will win a season ticket for a family of four.
Throughout the weekend, there will be a total of 20 golden eggs and four rainbow eggs to be found.
