The Actors' Institute, based at Swindon's Shoebox Theatre, will be starting its Acting & Emotions course next week.

The Actor's Workout: Acting & Emotions course will be starting on Tuesday, 3 May.

It will run for six weeks at the Shoebox Theatre at the Health Hydro on Milton Road.

Each session will take place every Tuesday from 7.30pm - 9.30pm, until 7 June.

A spokesperson for the Actors' Institute said: "During these sessions individuals will be guided through psychophysical approaches to accessing emotion, finding physical connections to emotion rather than drawing on the actor’ personal experience or affective memory.

"Throughout this six week training you will explore a range of emotions through simple improvisational exercises and accessing emotion within text and performance."

The sessions will also provide a practical experience of acting text. Staff at the Actors' Institute say attendees will be working towards in-class performances for immediate feedback.

This course is said to be ideal for any actor looking to explore new methods of access emotions, and is designed to complement the institute's year-long programme of actor training.

The course is priced at £60 for the six weeks.
