The Story Museum on Oxford is gearing up for the 15th Alice's Day on Saturday 6 July.

The day is dedicated to the curiouser and curiouser world of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Events are city-wide, with Oxford Botanic Garden, Weston Library and Oxford University’s Museum of Natural History taking part, as well as the famous parade on Broad Street, with The Story Museum’s Giant Alice Puppet, and an appearance from the Jabberwock.

This year’s Alice’s Day is themed Fabulous Monsters and Curious Creatures. Visitors may meet a giant Alice in Wonderland – but watch out for the Jabberwock!

Along with The Story Museum's very own giant Alice puppet, this year there will be a three-metre Jabberwock roaming the city. The fabulous monster from Through the Looking Glass will be out and about with a musical wrangler.

Crafted by the acclaimed theatre-makers and specialists in large-scale puppetry and magic, Rag and Bone, the Jabberwock will be on the move in central Oxford, blinking its eyes, and snapping its jaws, raising up to its full height of three metres.

Story Museum CEO Caroline Jones said: "On this, our 15th Alice’s Day, we extend an open invitation to Oxford’s communities to come and enjoy the many free activities available across the city in celebration of one of our best-loved local celebrities – Alice in Wonderland. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing our Giant Alice meet the Giant-est Jabberwock!"

Set against the backdrop of Oxford’s world-famous cityscape, Alice’s Day offers a variety of activities, including interactive storytelling, talks, and trails. Meet the Dodo at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History; or join the Hatter's tea party at the Oxford Botanic Garden in partnership with Whatnot Theatre; explore Oxford’s famous Covered Market with a Curious Creatures trail.

There will be half price entry all day at The Story Museum, where there’s free Wonderland-themed facepainting in the Courtyard!
